Will Keating & John Dowling’s Candelit Concert Tour

Wow! What an evening. There was a real buzz as the audience left the building. The Candle-lit concert at St Symphorian Church, Veryan, in February was a great success. A sell-out audience was enthralled by Will Keating, guitar and vocals, and John Dowling, banjo. They combined folk songs, many by Cornish songwriter, Harry ‘Safari’ Glasson, with ‘Blue Grass’, some composed by John. Will added a personal depth to some of the songs by telling the audience of his long connection with Harry Glasson.
Will revealed that John was BBC Radio 2 Young Folk Award Winner 2000 and USA National Banjo Champion 2002, the first non American to win this prestigious competition. The audience soundly supported the hope that the duo will make a return visit in the not too distant future.
St Symphorian Church has been the venue for a wide range of performances for many years and would welcome suggestions for future concerts.
