Our Church Community

Veryan Parish Church Welcomes you!

We are a small and welcoming Church of England parish church on Cornwall's Roseland peninsula. We enjoy a close relationship with the churches of Portloe and Ruan Lanihorne and together form part of the Diocese of Truro. We are privileged to worship in a beautiful parish church in one of Cornwall's most scenic villages. Of particular local interest are the famous roundhouses and the "Hera" grave.

We have been at the heart of Veryan since Norman times and enjoy a very close relationship with Veryan Church of England Primary School.

We are members of Cornwall Historic Churches Trust and the Prayer Book Society.

Why not join us one Sunday to find out more?

Church is open Monday to Saturday 10 am to 4 pm

BAPTISM (CHRISTENING)

Baptism into the church is the foundation of Christian life and is offered to everyone living in the parish who wants their child to be part of the church family.   Baptism can also be offered to people of any age; usually adult baptism is followed by confirmation.

The ceremony can take place as part of a regular church service or as a separate event.

MARRIAGE

You may be married in your local parish church or in any church where you have a family or a personal connection.

If you have had a civil wedding you may wish to have a blessing in church.

BURIAL & FUNERAL SERVICE

Burial in the parish churchyard is available for anyone who has lived in, or who has close family connections with, the parish, and is usually preceded by a funeral service in the church. You may also have a funeral or memorial service in the church if your loved one is to be, or has been, cremated, and the ashes may be buried in the churchyard. Your chosen undertaker will contact the parish and make the necessary arrangements for you.  There are helpful guidelines relating to memorials [see ‘churchyard’ leaflet and the Truro diocesan website.

Charges for these services vary from year to year
